Presentation of the South Node of the international consortium EIT Food

On June 19, the official presentation of the South Node of the EIT Food consortium (CLC South) took place in Madrid. The group is made up of partners and startups from Spain, Israel, Greece, Portugal, Italy and Turkey. The headquarters in Spain is located in Madrid and has Begoña Pérez Villareal as Director.
More than 70 professionals from the sector, experts in different fields, met to discuss the future of food in southern Europe, with the presence of Luca Cocolin, President of the South Node, Filip Fontaine, CEO of EIT Food, and Benoit Buntinx, Director of Business Development at EIT Food.
This launch was attended by different guests who contributed different points of view on the future of the food sector, such as Gemma Trigueros from the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU), Pablo Gómez from Acesur, Román Muñoz from the Association Business of Food Industries of the Community of Madrid (ASEACAM), Maite Iriondo of the Madrid Institute of Rural, Agrarian and Food Research and Development (IMIDRA) and Antonio Vicente Contreras, of AI Talentum, who highlighted the importance of the data and information available to develop predictive models, as well as the improvement of traceability thanks to innovative technologies such as blockchain or the improvement of personalized nutrition thanks to monitoring devices and the IoT.
